ATIS – Advanced Technology and Information Systems – was granted by the State of Bavaria and Agentur für Arbeit to be a school of higher education in 1993. First time it was acknowledged Wirtschatsinformatiker (IHK) and Qualitätsfachmann/frau (DGQ) as degrees suited for business and computing.
Reiner Schneeberger has been over 30 years the leading developer of educational programs at ATIS, which have been copied widely by other institutions. As Reiner was the youngest in the ATIS team, the school has winded down in 2023 and is no longer active in the original sense, but keeping the operations alive. Seeing the upcoming area of virtual and digital education Reiner Schneeberger created the METAVERSE UNIVERSITY by ATIS and works now as an Emeritus, mainly to conserve the history and to publish some links that might lead to future educational programs.
